With their maximum permitted load of 40 wagons (160 axles) of mealies in tow, this pair of class 34-400 GE U26C's is departing the Free State town of Wesselsbron with the return working of the Bultfontein pick-up, heading home to Kroonstad. The tracks curving out to the right are two legs of the turning triangle, which is still used when single loco's work the mealie trains. |
