A day out train chasing with my boys took us to the parking lot along the S-curve in downtown Elk River. A couple of younger railfans were there, too. It was their first time meeting up in person and their moms were kind enough to drive them here. The ladies seemed to be enjoying themselves, too, kicked back in some camp chairs and watching their sons enjoy the trains. I gave them some encouragement and was reminded that it wasn't that long ago...ok, almost 20 years...that my mom was toting me around to take pictures. They wanted to know how I seemed to know when the trains were coming (thank you, ATCS). Anyway, check out TCrailfan15 or MidwesternRailfan on youtube to see their videos. Here they are recording the passage of a westbound Q train behind 4 GE's, including a warbonnet. I hope they have as many years of enjoyment and friendship in this hobby as I've enjoyed and then some.
