The sun just manages to get a look through to offer up some sort of a reflection shot of EXX-3003 while staged in a yard in Maydon Wharf, Durban, awaiting the arrival of a ship to take it (and two other locomotives) through to Brazzaville in the Congo. The three locomotives (EXX-3001 / EXX-3002 / EXX-3003) were built by RRL Grindrod South Africa for lease to the Exxaro Mining Group's iron ore operations in the Congo. These operations were put on hold during the first half of 2014, due to the company being unable to secure the usage of rail and port facilities.
Photos taken in the Durban area, from the PRASA / Metrorail yards just North of Durban Station to Rossburgh Station including the Bayhead yards and along the Esplanade, Maydon Wharf and around Durban Harbour.
