I took a few vacation days this past week to do some Fall railroad photography, however things were looking pretty bleak after catching an ugly lead engine on Vermont Railway's B&R job on Wednesday and encountering unforecasted cloud cover on Canadian Pacific's D&H on Thursday. However, my two days of woes were quickly forgotten when I unexpectedly caught the Batten Kill Railroad making a round trip between Greenwich Junction and Eagle Bridge on Friday. After all, there aren't too many places where you can photograph a brightly-colored, 64-year old locomotive hauling revenue freight in 2014! Here, Alco RS-3 #605 and its two car train save the day for me as they round the bend in Cambridge, NY on the southbound run to Eagle Bridge to interchange with Pan Am Southern.
This album seeks to portray classic New England and Upstate New York imagery. It showcases the most perfect examples of regional identity, with special attention to structures and landscape.
