Remarks & Notes |
On a mid fall afternoon this 63 year old GP7L TVRM 1824 still look as good as it was when it rolled out of the EMD shops in 1951 and when into service with the U.S. Army with a different paint scheme, and numbers. Today 63 years later this old motor is part of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Collection still hanging on for dear life. As we see the modern EMD's and GE's running the rails of today, this GP7L and the last remaining ken's of the first Generation diesel across the country will always remind us that these older motor were the innovator of the modern locomotive. |
