Remarks & Notes

The second Amtrak locomotive to be numbered 608 was a rebuilt E60MA electric. That unit is seen here in charge of the southbound Silver Star, passing through Edison, NJ on the Northeast Corridor. The first 608 was an SDP40F diesel. Amtrak retired the last E60s in 2003. As of 2014 the number 608 rides the NEC again in the form of Amtrak's latest ACS-64 motors.
