Remarks & Notes |
British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) Class 507 EMU #507016 passes through farmland just outside the Town of Maghull, Merseyside on route to Liverpool Central Station.
The town of Maghull is 7 miles to the North of Liverpool City Centre and has significance as one of its former residents was Frank Hornby creator of Hornby Model Trains, Meccano Construction Sets and Dinky Toys. It is said that he drew his inspiration for his model train set creations from the Railway Activity around this location. He lived only yards away from Maghull Railway Station for most of his life. His house on Station Road, "The Hollies" was the first property outside of London to be awarded a Blue Plaque for its Historical importance by English Heritage. |
