Seaboard Air Line E7(A) 3017 and E7(A) 3041 will handle local passenger, mail, and express train No. 3 departing Raleigh, NC this afternoon in September 1966. Engine 3017 was Seaboard's first E7(A) acquired in 1945, geared for 98 MPH, and survived an additional 6 years from the date of this photo. The locomotive was originally delivered with a single headlight, but shop forces installed a twin sealed beam headlight in the nose door a number of years later.
