Remarks & Notes
An Alco helper trio (C420, RS-18, C420) drifts downgrade back to Packerton Yards on a damp March day. Scrappers had nearly finished removing the Jersey Central mainline tracks at left. All Jersey Central trains utilized the LV from Lehighton to White Haven at this time. Many years ago, a station here served a Victorian resort hotel, Hotel Wahnetah, which was located upriver a bit. Walkways led to scenic Glen Onoko Falls. Fire closed the hotel in 1911. High Speed Ektachrome.
