| Racing across the gentle South Yorkshire countryside, 'Union of South Africa' is heading along the Swinton & Knottingley route. She is now only about 40 miles from her final destination at York. Quaintly named, Mutton Flatts country park is host to tall grass plantations that have been seeded to stabilise the thin soils of this hillside that is a reclaimed former colliery spoil heap. I think they make a most attractive foreground to the view. |
