With the clock ticking away, and speculation on the discontinue of the roadrailer service finally coming to realization its really hard to believe in 28 years the Triple Crown roadrailer was a major success on Norfolk Southern, but the difference between the Triple Crown, and its original counterparts was the usage of the rail bogie instead of a single frame truck which was a failure. Today with double stack trains becoming a lot more successful the roadrailer is becoming endangered, and the sight of seeing two motors pulling a long string of trailer are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Seen here NS 251 (Sandusky, OH-Jacksonville,FL) make its oddly scheduled daily run around the curve at Ooltewah (M.P. 227.0 CP-Ooltewah) heading for the Atlanta North End for the Sunshine state with a pair of ratty SD70M-2's as the warm winter sun rises over Whiteoak Mountain, but dark clouds are slowly coming of this iconic bi-modal transportation.
