A Proper Dump in the Pass - On December 31, 2014, we got our first snow fall in the Cajon Pass in about two seasons. While it was nice to have some of the white stuff to shoot against, the actual snow fall was nothing like the dumping that was predicted. Consequently, I dug this one out of the archives for shits and giggles. Original 2013 Caption: An eastbound Union Pacific manifest train pulls through CP Walker on BNSF Main #2 on a cold February morning (28 degrees) after a light snow storm.
The Cajon Pass does not see snow often, and it is rare for the snow to stay on the ground into the afternoon.
Eventually, the air did warm up to a balmy 34 degrees and it was quite comfortable to stand in the sun, while the shady spots remained chilly.
