Remarks & Notes
One of the most favorite passenger trains, the California Zephyr, exits the first of 28 tunnels at Plainview, Colo. before it reaches the big one under the continental divide — the 6.2-mile long Moffat Tunnel. The train came into Denver on the CB&Q, swapped engines, and now the domes are occupied with anxious passengers to see the best scenery. The most popular item on the dining car menu? Rocky Mountain trout which they usually ran out of.
