Another one from Kirk Falls (see Photo ID 515722), this time with a 10M5 Metrorail set, Train No. 1056, bound for Cato Ridge. The waterfall forms part of an enclosed (on three of the four sides) "amphitheatre" type geographical rock formation. Although a great location, the sun just never seems to get into a decent position at any time of the day (aways shaded / shadows) and there are space constraints in terms of angle / position options for the photographer. One also has to consider the safety factor, Kirk Falls being in a remote / isolated location. To make best use of the waterfall as a feature, one also needs to have a train running contra-flow as well. As luck would have it, this was the case here. The train has just (still is) exited the first of two tunnels, with the entrance portal to the second tunnel about 20m in front of where the train is positioned here now. Unfortunately, being a late autumn day when this photo was taken, the water flow was weak, but during the summer rainfall months the waterfall can be a pretty impressive sight.
