| Sitting in your office chair on BNSF 9984 South at the beginning of Colorado’s Joint Line single track at Palmer Lake on May 2, 1999, the dispatcher advises you are waiting for UP 8080 North. Wasn’t 8080 an old gas turbine experiment 33 years earlier? You grab the camera and wait, and sure enough 8080 shows up northbound as a SD90/43 MAC. |
