On a frigid February morning in the Nevada desert, a steam powered V&T freight climbs the grade out of Carson City en route to Virginia City, NV. Having "logged" an unimaginable number of miles, Northern California transplant, McCloud River Railroad 2-8-2 #18 finds itself nearly one hundred years after it's birth at Baldwin in Philadelphia working the restored V&T railroad during a photo charter by Lerro Productions. Happy 100th!
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
