Remarks & Notes |
The Pregnall Turn is arriving at the Southern Seven Mile Yard (named for its milepost location) in North Charleston, SC as the local's conductor expresses his appreciation for the yard conductor having lined the switches for his train's arrival. Many, many things about this photo are uncharacteristic for my style at the time. I basically did not care about the Southern/NS because they were the small player in town and the road trains ran at night. The allure of frequent road trains on the Seaboard System was much stronger, and where I was found 99% of the time. I only took this shot because I was with a friend who was much more into the Southern than me. I'm glad I was along for the ride that day, and pushed outside my normal box. |
