On a frigid January afternoon, NS local T51 rolls through the interlocking at CP RIDGE on the I&O Oasis Subdivision, headed for the former N&W Peavine Route at Clare Yard in Mariemont. The bridge in the background carries the I&O Blue Ash Subdivision over the Oasis Subdivision. Almost 3 months to the day after this photo was taken, on April 28th, 2014, the Peavine east of Clare was leased to the Cincinnati East Terminal Railway (CCET) and the T51 job was abolished, replaced by various yard jobs that now head to Clare to switch the Bulkmatic Facility and the CCET Intechange there.
Mostly known for bad professional sports teams, Cincinnati is also known for its railroad heritage. These are some of the best and most interesting photos depicting railroads in Cincinnati.
