Amtrak's southbound Vermonter train #55 is seen approaching the Claremont Junction stop on the New England Central Railroad's Palmer Subdivision as the Claremont Concord Railroad S4 105 is switching a pair of empty hoppers to the NECR interchange.
The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
