A view from when the FEC wasn't quite as interesting with fans, minus today's Champion scheme and other intricacies. Although, this day was quite interesting, as it marked Day 1 of a long drawn-out battle for the U.S. presidency between George W. Bush and Al Gore, and the state in which I took this photo was ground zero. My wife and I would periodically turn on the TV as we woke up during the night to see if a winner was declared. Little did we know what was in store. But I was certainly glad to come away with this photo of a railroad I largely ignored during college in Daytona Beach, because aviation was my primary interest at that time.
