Remarks & Notes
The engineer of Seaboard Air Line No.8, "The Sunland" has just given 2 crisp blasts of the Hancock air whistle and opened the throttle bringing 4 E7A's to life on the 17 car "name train". No. 8 handled heavy head-end business on a daily basis and regularly ran with 17 to 20 cars frequently operating with 4 E units. This day is no exception and the locomotive consist includes both Seaboard E7A's 3040 and 3041 which sport aluminum sides. Within minutes these units will be unleashed to full stride ... 79 MPH.
