Remarks & Notes |
A very power short and backlogged CSXT has endured the winter blues with record breaking cold temperatures in the northeast and heavy snows in the Buffalo region. Off scheduled stack trains led by run-through power like the spiffy new BNSF ES44C4 7979 make for nice images from the usual dreary Dark Future colors that normally rule the River Sub. The ancient searchlight signals seen here alongside King's Highway date back to the New York Central days(at least the cast iron stands do) and are definately on super borrowed time as CSXT continues to upgrade this crucial line with new signaling and additional track. The Albany Division continues to battle crushing capacity that has stranded parked freights on sidings from Selkirk to Willard without crews and leaving the railroad plagued with delays.
