Veteran Class 6E1 electric locomotives, E1658 / E1595 / E1318, are pictured here passing through Ashburton Station on their way to Johannesburg, having just left the Transnet Engineering Workshops at Edwin Swales in Durban, where they were put into the PRASA "blue" livery. These three aging, but beautiful old gals (all three in excess of 40 years old) will continue on in service for the near future hauling mainline passenger trains on the line between Johannesburg and Cape Town.
