Remarks & Notes |
“Twas a day fit for neither man nor beast”. After breakfast I decided to venture out into what I believed was going to be another typical Denver snow event to take a few fun snow pics. Denver snow storms are typically light to medium snow with fairly mild wind conditions. It became apparent that the weather forecaster was right about the potential for an ‘epic’ snowstorm. It seems the conditions were worsening by the minute and I was just about to head home, thinking that I would live to fight another day, when I heard a faint but recognizable K5 horn. I rolled down the window and braved the 20 mile per hour winds and could see three faint light globes getting noticeably bigger……and fast. Just as I was about to think I was going to miss the shot because of too much blowing snow, BNSF 6619 (Es44C4) came into focus. I had only time to snap a few shots and then it flew past with a bunch of welded rail cars in tow. |
