BN train 3, once known as the Pacific Zip, bends around a curve through the rock outcroppings just west of Deception Creek, high up in the ewst slope of the Cascade Mountains near Scenic. This train was BN's premier train on the Chicago to Seattle run, and originally handled U. S. mail, with roots going back to Great Northern's Fast Mail.
