Remarks & Notes |
EM2 denotes the modernisation of the old ER2 commuter trains built in late 60-ex - early 70-s of the last century in Riga (Latvia) for the railroads of the USSR. After the collapse of the USSR and the sovereign default in 1998 the country had no finances to renew its railroad fleet, and the decision was taken to modernise old cars. This particular train was build in 1974 and had a number ER2-1016, and was "upgraded" to EM2 in 2003. |
