Remarks & Notes |
At the time this picture was taken, Wolwehoek was a reasonably well kept manned station with manually controlled colour light block signalling. The bakkie (pick-up truck) parked on the platform belongs to the Train Control Officer working in the signal cabin, out of sight to the left. A pair of Kroonstad based class 34-400's are passing through the station with a late running mixed freight of grain wagons and butane and propylene tankers from Kroonstad to Sasolburg. During February Wolwehoek was converted to CS90 remote controlled colour light signalling, controlled from Leeuhof in Vereeniging and is no longer manned. |
