Remarks & Notes
Nearly all of the MRORV, the daily Roper Yard, UT to Roseville, CA manifest has passed the west switch of Sage siding and it is now about to enter the mile long Hogan Tunnel in the Pequop Mountains of eastern Nevada. Hogan Tunnel goes under Flower Pass which is on the 1846 route of the Donner Party known as the Hastings Cutoff. The action is taking place on the ex. Western Pacific Seventh Subdivision, now the Union Pacific Shafter Sub. To get this shot I was standing on the long abandoned, temporary, switchback route over Flower Pass that was only in use until Hogan Tunnel was holed through and in service.
