Remarks & Notes |
Beginning its climb out of the Colville River Valley, BNSF's Chewelah Turn is en-route back to Spokane with a matched set of EMD's in A-B-B-B-B-A configuration. The four B units are former Santa Fe GP60B's purchased in the early 90's to power premium intermodal trains between Chicago and California. Today's duty is a little less glamorous but at least they're still making a living hauling freight. The eighties Swedish pop band ABBA would likely be envious of a locomotive consist like this. This train gets the majority of its traffic in interchange from the Kettle Falls International Railroad at Chewelah, WA. |
