Oak Island to Metuchen Yard transfer makes an afternoon run down the NEC. This section of the Northeast Corridor, from OI to Metuchen, used to serve many customers including two major automobile plants. All have gone out of business, moved, or just ceased getting rail deliveries. Now all that is left in terms of freight is the daily yard transfer. Today's power was quite nice with an ex-Erie Lackawanna SD45-2 on point. The bridge in the background is the former SIRT line.
