| Today was billed as "The Last Run to Mill 5" for Simpson Railroad. It was the last time anyone would see a log train run the mainline of this soon to be defunct logging road. Two runs were made to the Dayton dry sort area where a string of these log cars and another string of center beam flat lumber cars had to be brought back to town in preparation for storage after the shutdown of Simpson Lumber later in the month. Caboose 201 was also added to the train in order for company heads and friends to take part in the "celebratory" event. |
