Transplant OR - The storied Reading shops had a small revival in the late 1980's, hosting an overhaul of Reading T-1 2102, which was born there, as well as several vintage diesel rebuilds. Here, BAR F3A number 46, purchased without a prime mover by the Anthracite Railroads Historical Society at a BAR auction, is about to regain a heartbeat. Beyond 46 is the rear end of former ATSF CF7 2649, which is the organ donor. Dangling from the shop's travelling crane in the background is the EMD 567C that was just lifted from the CF7. That heart still beats today at Steamtown, with 46 now dressed up as DL&W 664.
