Marquette's Ludington yard job makes a rare afternoon run to the west end of the yard which is also the furthest west you can go on the railroad and also the end of the Ludington sub. about 30 feet behind me.
Here 2042 and another 38-2 are stopped next to the old coal tower with a monster train that did not fit into the yard.. at least that conductor had a nice day to walk 80 cars. The entire yard used to have a yard lead on each end and continued to the west about another mile to reach the car ferry slips. Now there are only three tracks that you can use to run around cars.
