Remarks & Notes |
Bran-New CN 2973 loads coal from Teck's Cardinal River Mine. Coal from the Cardinal River is brought to Luscar, by huge haul trucks, then processed for destinations around the world. The locomotives sit in a sag that allows for easier loading on the extreme grades. The mine lead above the load-out sits on a grade of 1-1.3% while the rear of the 50 car train drops off to a grade of 2.7%. You can see the grade beginning to drop off steeper in front of the large round silo in the picture. |
