With orange trim on the engine and coaches returned to their DL&W-era pullman green, Arcade & Attica Railroad No.18 still knows how to strike a pose in this Memorial Day Weekend 2014 shot.
Grant dollars show here with the rebuild roadbed. The town has supported the railroad with rehabilitation of an old truss bridge nearby converted to pedestrian traffic near the line.
With the engineer laying on the steam whistle, the train approaches the North Street crossing. Cattaragus Creek Trestle marks the start of the railroad's climb out of town. The train will continue working upgrade to a point roughly a mile from the Curriers Depot, before dropping down into the 1881 Depot.
