After checking out the old GM&O Tri-Light signals slated for replacement in Auburn, I remembered that the Texas Eagle was a thing. So I raced home, grabbed my camera and frantically settled on the shot with minutes to spare. Actually that's not true. I should have counted on something holding the train up, and that something was the NS at Hazel Dell on the south side of Springfield.
