Nickel Plate Road 2-8-4 type steam locomotive #765, built by Lima Locomotive works in 1944, with a tractive effort of 64,135 lbs, ready to depart Norfolk Southern's Bison yard with the 'Erie Limited'. My wife & I rode this rare mileage excursion over the former Erie Railroad (now Norfolk Southern's Southern Tier Line) from Buffalo to Corning, NY with the highlight of the trip being the spectacular Portageville bridge in Letchworth State Park.
