The locomotives outnumber the cars on the return of local APB-1, the Bangor & Portland local from Allentown, seen here passing Alpha yard in Martin’s Creek, PA. Established when the Lackawanna Cutoff was closed, this local became the lifeblood of the Bangor & Portland, bringing cars from Allentown to Portland and return. Locals based in Bangor would then distribute the cars to various industries along the branch, and occasionally take an as-needed car to Stroudsburg. Local railfan Craig Ealey has just executed a now-forbidden moving dismount so I can give him a ride home.
