South Carolina Central's facility in Floyd, South Carolina, is typical of many shortlines - an open-air enginehouse, a few tracks for car repair and a small yard for making up locals. Spotted in their facility on October 17th, 2008, was leased Helm Leasing GP40-2 516. Built in December 1977 as Boston & Maine 312. It eventually sold to U.S. Rail Corporation, who resold it to HATX (as their 516). After this photo was taken, HATX repainted and renumbered this engine to HATX 4275. Photographed on railroad property with permission and full PPE.
