I don't always shoot diesels, but when I do, I do Heritage...
On September 30, 2015 Norfolk Southern's Chattanooga shops unveiled the latest addition to their heritage feet which honors it's predecessor railroads. No. 1700 SD45-2 was built in October 1972 for the Erie Lackawanna and was the first locomotive of 13 ordered. 1700 has entered revenue service, joining the fleet of five additional 1700-series locomotives presently assigned to the Conrail Share Assets region in Oak Island, N.J. Crews report high numbers of photographers on every run.
This gallery contains photos of equipment and properties that became, were and used to be part of the Erie Lackawanna Railroad. This gallery also contains photos of equipment paying tribute to the EL or its predecessors.
