On a most fitting rainy May 24, 2011, Montana Rail Link gathers 17 retired locomotives at Livingston, Montana, to run as a a special “funeral train” to a scrapper on the west coast. A lot of problems are found with getting the air through the train of old locomotives, and in this view, two men from mechanical try to help with the situation. No luck on this day, the train finally departed on May 29 headed for Schnitzer Steel in Portland, Oregon. The group of EMDs were mostly SD40s and GP9s, along with three SD9s and a SD45-2. R.I.P.…
