Remarks & Notes
A VIA F40 and FP9A make the station stop at Sherbrooke, PQ with the westbound Atlantic Limited. Wait a minute...what's wrong with this picture? The ran and puddles offer a clue. When VIA reinstated the Atlantic Limited in 1985, it adjusted the all CP route to switch to the CN between Montreal and Lennoxville, PQ. In this timeframe, the Atlantic Limited stopped at the CN station in Sherbrooke, not the CP station as shown in this photograph. After extensive rain, there had been flooding from the Saint Francois River on the CN/Grand Trunk Sherbrooke Subdivision. VIA re-routed the westbound Atlantic Limited to stay on the CP to Montreal and switched the station stop at Sherbrooke to the CP station.
