| A pristine August morning finds Stephen Host and I exploring Letchworth State Park before the passage of the lionized NKP 765. From below the upper falls, we watch as Norfolk Southern train #309 trundles across the spindly 1875-built Portageville trestle. The short train is headed for Elkhart, Indiana and is powered by SD70M-2 # 2739 and ES40DC # 7593. Last time I visited this location I was a little disappointed that I missed the opportunity to include a reflection of the train, however I was lucky enough to have a second chance and I didn't pass it up. |
