The westbound Broadway Limited rounds the big curve at Florin on its way to Harrisburg, where the G will be exchanged for diesels. The 927 was built by PRR/GE in March, 1943 as No. 4934, the fifth-to-last GG-1. Amtrak and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania invested $140 Million in the mid-2000s in rebuilding this line with welded rail, concrete ties, and revamped signaling, bringing track speeds up to 110 mph in some locations. (75 mph was the maximum speed in the mid-70s on the old PRR 152 lb jointed rail.)
