| Inside the cab of former-C&O (and for a brief time, Southern) 2-8-4 #2716. The C&O Kanawhas had slightly longer cabs that those of their similar counterparts on the NKP. The seats currently installed here are not original to the locomotive, but are native to a first-generation SRR diesel. The spring loaded seats were installed by the Birmingham crews in the famous early-80s conversion of the locomotive from C&O to Southern, headed up by master mechanic Bill Purdie. |
