The eastern sky is brightening, but the yard lights are still on at 6:39 am as BNSF Railway's 2015 California Division Christmas Train begins to come to life in preparation for the day's run to Barstow and return. The crew in BNSF 10, the dining car that carries the name "Lake Superior," is already at work whipping up a breakfast for the soon to arrive volunteers and crew. Within the hour, the train will be full of BNSF employees eager to serve and entertain three coaches filled with disadvantaged children in order to bring them holiday cheer. This is actually the rear of the train, which has month-old ET44C4 3908 on the headend, followed by power car 53, business cars 66 and 7, dining car 10 and business cars 28 and 4, coaches 41 and 44 and dome/lounge 31, with ET44C4 3907 bringing up the rear.
