CSX owns a lot of GP40-2s - at least 385 units, from a variety of predecessor railroads: A&WP, B&O, C&O, CR, GA, L&N, RF&P, SBD, SCL, WA and WM. CSXT GP40-2 6226, sitting in West Springfield, Massachusetts, on February 1st, 2003, was originally Baltimore & Ohio 4327, built in February 1979 (which means as a B&O unit, it wore Chessie System colors).
