Remarks & Notes
Inside the Wilmington & Western Engine Shop

A set of drivers from Wilmington & Western's 0-6-0 #58 have been removed and set aside in preparation for installation of new "tires". Where does one get a set of "new" tires for a 1907 Baldwin built switcher? From old GG1 stock! Amazingly, Amtrak gave the W&W new GG1 tires in 1981 when the last of the GG-1s were retired. They are not a direct fit, however, and will need to be machined down a bit, both the inside and outside diameters. For more information, visit "The Friends of the Wilmington & Western Railroad" on FB here.
