GN 181 shows off its new paint in August 1994. The NW3 was placed near the x-GN Whitefish, MT depot. It was one of the rarest models built by Electro Motive, with only 7 being built, all for GN. It featured a 1000hp V12 diesel, and an elongated underframe with FT style Blomberg trucks. GN 181 was the last one built in March 1942. It was last in service at Anaconda Aluminum, Columbia Falls, MT.
