Remarks & Notes

New York City Transit's fully operational open end wooden gate cars are seen on display at the transit museum. Originally built in 1907, they were rehabbed with sliding doors in the 1930s. In 1979, 3 cars were converted back to open end gate cars at the Coney Island Overhaul Shop to their present day appearance.
